Project: WITNESS, a US-based NGO, supports local activists with training and materials to produce videos exposing human rights abuses. Final evaluation of the Forced Evictions Campaign (2011-2014), an advocacy campaign funded by the Adessium Foundation supporting local community-based organizations while also attempting to raise awareness of the commonalities between the patterns of human rights violations due to development-induced forced evictions worldwide.



  • Project implemented smoothly, on time and wtihin budget. Proposal preparation, contract negotiation, project planning/budgeting, co-design of data collection instruments with client in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
  • Data sourced from 7 countries in 3 languages: online survey of 69 project stakeholders in Asia, Africa, Europe, North/South America. Qualitative database construction (931 citations) and analysis.
  • Results disseminated in intuitive, interactive package: Final product preparation including the final report (55 pages, in English), de-identified survey database, and de-identified qualitative citation database.
  • In-person facilitation of a 2-day workshop on M&E systems design: targeted client's New Vision initiative, oriented NGO leadership to the structure of M&E, the realities of the professional M&E  landscape and pros/cons of contracting M&E specialists.
